What is a reverse harem romance?

A reverse harem romance story is a subgenre where the central female character is romantically involved with multiple male characters simultaneously, often without having to choose just one. The story typically focuses on the dynamics of these relationships, highlighting themes of love, trust, and emotional connections among the group.

Reverse harem and why choose are often considered the same subgenre. Both describe stories where the central female character is involved with multiple love interests simultaneously and does not have to choose just one.

The term “why choose” specifically emphasizes the idea that the protagonist doesn’t have to make a choice between her love interests, which is a hallmark of reverse harem romance.
